ID3 Data

Every slice in an upLynk stream begins with an ID3 tag that defines information about what is playing in the stream. This ID3 tag is a TXXX Frame that contains a text string. This text string is made up of three parts. Each section is separated by an underscore. The first part contains the asset id, then ray index followed by the slice index.

For example:

What can this be used for?

This information can be used for several things. When the asset id changes, this signals that a new asset is now playing. Using the asset info call, you could find out if it's currently playing and ad or any other information needed. Such as TV rating or anything else.

Changes in the ray index can be used to monitor the quality of the video that is currently being played back.
